Visiting Psychology Faculty in UMM, UPI was Interested with Accelerating the Graduation

Around 11 staffs from Indonesia University of Education (UPI) visited University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) at Thursday (22/08). The visit was welcomed by the Dean of Psychology Faculty UMM, Dra. Cahyaning Suryaningrum, M.Si and lecturers in the Psychology department’s Hall, GKB 1 UMM.
Cahyaning explained about Psychology Faculty included the faculty’s effort in providing fund for students who want to take research. “The faculty also gives financial support study fund (Dana Studi) for the needed student”, she said. Cahyaning also gave a look the company profile video of Psychology Faculty before the Q&A events.
In the dialogue session, some guests were interested to give questions. One of the questions was how to solve the students who are considered slow. In response, Cahyaning explained that the students’ Cumulative Achievements Index (IPK) have to be reviewed first. If the achievement does not meet the standard yet, they have to attend thesis writing training for a whole semester, which is continued with proposal guidance training for two weeks.
After that, the faculty will announce the advisors and continue with thesis guidance between the students and advisors in order to pursue the graduation period which is divided into four times in a year.
By the thesis period which is given in only a year, the students are invited to take the speed in order to avoid the fund penalty. The fund penalty is around 50 % from the original thesis fee. As the result, the students will be challenged and spirited to finish their study. umm.ac.id
